We’re thrilled to announce that NorthCare Charity has been awarded £9,300 from Sport England’s Movement Fund, thanks to National Lottery players! This funding will enable the Salford Royal Diabetes Team to access EXTOD specialist training to support people with Type 1 diabetes in safely getting active - something that’s currently not available in the North West.
Why is this so important?
For people with Type 1 diabetes, staying active can be a challenge—balancing insulin, food, and exercise isn’t always easy. But with the right support, exercise can become a safe and enjoyable tool for improving health, controlling blood sugars, and boosting energy.
Thanks to this funding, our team will:
✅ Get expert training to help people with Type 1 diabetes safely enjoy physical activity.
✅ Offer tailored advice on how to balance blood sugars, insulin, and exercise.
✅ Break down barriers and give more people the confidence to stay active.
This is a game-changer for Type 1 diabetes care in the North West - making physical activity a safe, accessible, and empowering part of everyday life for those living with the condition.
A massive thank you to everyone who plays National Lottery games - you’re making a real impact!
