Payroll giving
Payroll giving is a great way for staff to support our work through their workplace. It’s a simple and tax effective scheme that allows you to donate on a regular basis and show your continued support to our vital work across our hospitals and community services in Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Salford.
You can donate a set amount each payday directly from your gross salary. This means the deduction is made before calculating your taxable pay, which reduces the amount on which you pay tax. In turn, your donation will cost you up to 40 percent less.
So, if you are a basic rate taxpayer and you pledge £10, you only pay £7.80. The taxman will add £2.20 at no extra cost to you. And, if you are a higher rate taxpayer, then it will cost you even less to donate £10 as tax is deducted at the higher rate.

Pennies From Heaven
Pennies from Heaven is an easy way for staff to donate the spare pennies from their payslip to us, without lifting a finger. The most each employee can donate is 99p a month (less than £12 a year!), making giving accessible to everyone.
Once your workplace is registered, staff sign up directly with Pennies from Heaven through your own payroll systems and donations will automatically be made to our charity when employees receive their payslips – it’s as simple as that.
Northern Care Alliance (NCA) NHS Foundation Trust have registered with Pennies from Heaven, meaning all NCA staff can sign up online to support their own NHS charity every month.
